What Is Acnedap 5 % Gel?

How Does Acnedap 5 % Gel Work?
Acnedap 5 % Gel is an antibiotic used for the treatment of leprosy. The drug interferes with the bacterial synthesis and the formation of dihydrofolic acid. This replaces the para-aminobenzoate and thus helps reduce the symptoms related to leprosy.
What Is Route Of Administration?
This medicine is for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Clean and dry the affected area and apply the gel. Wash your hands after applying, unless hands are the affected area.

Do
Apply a thin layer to the entire face and other affected areas as instructed by your doctor.
Take care to avoid getting the gel in the eyes, mouth or nose. If it happens, rinse it out with plenty of warm water.
Do not apply it on broken, infected or sunburnt areas of skin.
Do not use more amount or more often than recommended as that will not make it any more effective but may irritate your skin.
It may cause dryness and itching of the skin being treated. Inform your doctor if this bothers you.

Do not take by mouth. Consult with your doctor before using this medicine on open wounds, dry, chapped, irritated, or sun-burned skin.
Wash your hands before and after applying Acnedap 5 % Gel. Clean and dry the skin area to be treated.
Do not wash the treated area after immediately applying Acnedap 5 % Gel. Also avoid the use of other products on the treated area unless directed by your doctor.
Applying an excessive amount may result in pilling. Use a thinner layer or lesser quantity of medicine to avoid pilling.
Avoid getting this medication in your eyes or nose or mouth.
