Zoldria 4mg Injection is a bisphosphonate. It works by suppressing the activity of osteoclasts, cells that cause destruction of bone. This strengthens the bones and minimizes the risk of fractures.
What Is Zoldria 4mg
Zoldria 4mg Injection is available as an injection, meant to be administered intravenously. It is supplied only if it is prescribed by a registered doctor. It comes in two strengths. It is used to treat patients suffering from osteoporosis (both males and post-menopausal women), multiple myeloma, patients with high levels of calcium in their blood, and patients suffering from Paget disease. The main function of this medication is to increase the bone density in your bones.
You are strongly recommended to avoid using this drug if you are a pregnant woman. You are also advised to consult your medical practitioner before using this medication if you are a breastfeeding woman. Do not use this medicine if you have had an allergic reaction to any of its components in the past. This medicine is contraindicated to patients with low levels of calcium in their blood, and to patients with a high level of kidney damage.

Zoldria 4mg Warning
Use in pediatrics – This medicine is not recommended for use in children or adolescents.
Severe bone, joint and/or muscle pain – This medicine may cause severe bone, joint, and/or muscle pain. Report any such symptoms to the doctor on priority. Your doctor may advise you to discontinue therapy based on your clinical condition.
Flu-like symptoms – This medicine may cause flu-like symptoms after the dose administration. Consult the doctor if the symptoms do not resolve within 14 days.
Thigh bone fracture – Treatment with Zoldria 4 mg Injection may increase the risk of thigh bone fracture. Care should be taken to avoid any falls or other trauma to reduce this risk.
Pregnancy – This medicine is not recommended for use in pregnant women.
Breast-feeding – This medicine is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women unless absolutely necessary. All the risks and benefits should be discussed with the doctor before taking this medicine. Your doctor may advise you to discontinue breastfeeding or to discontinue the drug based on your clinical condition.
Zoldria 4mg Precaution
You have been prescribed Zoldria 4 mg Injection for the treatment of osteoporosis.
It may also be used to treat high blood calcium levels (hypercalcemia) or bone damage and pain that may occur with cancer.
It is given by injection into a vein, usually over at least 15 minutes or as directed by your doctor.
Drink plenty of fluids to prevent dehydration and kidney damage.
It can lower the level of calcium in the blood. Take calcium and vitamin D supplements as suggested by your doctor.
You may develop fever or flu like symptoms, such as chills, tiredness and weakness. These are usually temporary and should go away after a few days. You may take a pain reliever/fever reducer to prevent or treat these symptoms.
Zoldria 4 mg Injection may cause a rare condition called osteonecrosis of the jaw. Have regular dental check-ups and inform your doctor if you develop sudden pain in your jaw.
Your doctor will monitor your response to Zoldria 4 mg Injection by testing your bone mineral density (BMD). This is usually done every 1-3 years.
Do not take Zoldria 4 mg Injection if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

It is unlikely you will have to store Aclasta at home. If you do have to store it: Store the medicine in a cool dry place at room temperature Do not store Aclasta or any other medicine in the bathroom or near a sink Do not leave it in the car or on a window sill. Heat and dampness can destroy some medicines. Keep the medicine where young children cannot reach it. A locked cupboard at least one-anda- half metres above the floor is a good place to store medicines. Each Aclasta vial is to be used for one infusion only and then discarded.
