How Does Hydroquin 200mg Work?
Hydroquin 200mg Tablet is a Disease Modifying Anti-Rheumatoid Drug (DMARD). It works by suppressing the overactivity of the immune system that causes inflammation (swelling) and pain in the joints. This slows the progression of the underlying disease.

Do
You have been prescribed Hydroquin 200mg Tablet for the treatment of autoimmune conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis or systemic lupus erythematosus.
Take it with food to avoid an upset stomach.
It can take 8-12 weeks for Hydroquin 200mg Tablet to work. Keep taking it as prescribed.
Do not take medicines that neutralise stomach acids (antacids) four hours before and after taking Hydroquin 200mg Tablet as they can stop the medicine from being absorbed properly from your gut.
Have regular eye tests done while taking this medicine. Stop taking it and inform your doctor immediately if you notice any changes in your vision.
It can cause lowering of blood glucose level. Inform your doctor if you experience hypoglycemia symptoms such as cold sweats, cool pale skin, tremor, and anxious feeling.

Pregnancy = Hydroquin 200mg is not recommended for use in pregnant women unless potential benefits outweigh the risks. Discuss all the risks and benefits with your doctor before taking this medicine.

Musculoskeletal effects = Hydroquin 200mg Tablet may cause muscle weakness if used for a long duration of time. Close monitoring of skeletal muscle function and tendon reflexes is necessary while receiving this medicine. The treatment should be discontinued if symptoms of muscle weakness appear.
Effect on kidney = Hydroquin 200mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Close monitoring of kidney function is necessary while receiving this medicine. The dose should be adjusted based on the creatinine clearance.
