Isotroin 20 mg Capsule belongs to a category of chemical compounds called retinoid. This medication helps in the treatment of cystic acne or nodular acne that has previously not responded to any other kinds of treatment. It lowers the production of facial oil and prevents hardening of the skin. If acne is not properly treated it can cause permanent scarring.
What is Isotroin 20mg Uses ?
This medication is used to treat severe cystic acne (also known as nodular acne) that has not responded to other treatment (e.g., benzoyl peroxide or clindamycin applied to the skin or tetracycline or minocycline taken by mouth). It belongs to a class of drugs known as retinoids. It works by decreasing facial oil (sebum) production. High amounts of sebum can lead to severe acne. If left untreated, severe acne may cause permanent scarring.

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Isotroin 20 Capsule is to be taken with food.

This medicine works by preventing the production of sebum from the glands present in the inner layers of skin. It also promotes the growth of healthy skin cells.

Use of this medicine may worsen the symptoms of psychiatric disorders. It should be used with caution by patients suffering from mood changes, anxiety, agitation, depression etc.
Use of this medicine may cause a reduction in bone density and hence should be used with caution in patients suffering from osteoporosis or other disorders affecting bone density.
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not double the dose to catch up.
