How Does Ketocip Shampoo 1% Â Work?
Ketocip Shampoo 1% is an antifungal. It works by inhibiting the synthesis of ergosterol which is a important component of fungi cell membrane by inhibiting cytochrome P-450 dependent enzyme lanosterol 14α-demethylase responsible for the conversion of lanosterol to ergosterol, thus helps in inhibiting the growth of the organism.

Drug To Drug Interaction

Your doctor might prescribe alternative medicines where the risks of side effects are minimal. Warfarin = Usage of Ketocip Shampoo 1% along with Warfarin is recommended only after dosage adjustment. Safety monitoring is a must in such cases. Signs and symptoms like headache, presence of blood in vomit and urine, weakness, unusual bleeding should be reported immediately.
Atorvastatin = Use of Ketocip Shampoo 1% with Atorvastatin is not recommended. Inform your doctor about the usage of either of these medicines so that suitable replacement could be suggested. Symptoms like muscle pain and weakness coupled with fever, joint pain and chills should be reported immediately.

Do

Have or history of hepatic impairment, predisposition to adrenocortical insufficiency
Limit alcohol consumption
Take antacid 1 hour before or 2 hours after this drug
Do not take by mouth. Consult with your doctor before using this medicine on open wounds, dry, chapped, irritated, or sun-burned skin.
Wash your hands before and after applying Ketocip Shampoo 1%. Clean and dry the skin area to be treated.
Do not wash the treated area after immediately applying Ketocip Shampoo 1%. Also avoid the use of other products on the treated area unless directed by your doctor.
Applying an excessive amount may result in pilling. Use a thinner layer or lesser quantity of medicine to avoid pilling.
Avoid getting this medication in your eyes or nose or mouth.

Pregnancy = Ketocip Shampoo is not recommended for use during pregnancy unless absolutely necessary. Consult your doctor about the potential benefits and risks before deciding to take this medicine.
Breast-feeding = Ketocip Shampoo is not recommended for use during breastfeeding women unless absolutely necessary. Consult your doctor about the potential benefits and risks before deciding to take this medicine. Do not breastfeed for at least 5 hours after the dose to reduce the risk of          exposure.
Liver injury = Ketocip Shampoo 1% can cause severe liver injury when high doses are used. Any known incidence of liver disease should be reported to the doctor. Dosage adjustments and safety monitoring might be required in such cases.
QT prolongation = Ketocip Shampoo 1% may increase the QT prolongation. This risk is more if coadministered with other medicines that can cause QT prolongation. Close monitoring of heart function is necessary.
Kidney disease = Ketocip Shampoo 1% may decrease the adrenal corticosteroid secretion when high doses are used. The recommended dose should not exceed 400 mg. Close monitoring of adrenal function is necessary.
