What Is Malirid 7.5mg?
Malirid 7.5mg Tablet is used to prevent the occurrence of malaria caused by mosquito bites. Being an aminoquinoline, it works by stopping the formation of the blood forms of the parasite that may cause a relapse of malaria. It is used after other medicines have already killed the parasites off in the red blood cells. It kills them in other body tissues.

Malirid 7.5mg Tablet is an antiparasitic medication which treats malaria. It works by increasing the levels of haeme in the blood, a substance toxic to the malarial parasite. This kills the parasite and stops the infection from spreading.

Do
Malirid 7.5mg Tablet is used for the prevention and treatment of malaria.
Take it with food to decrease the risk of stomach upset.
Eye examination prior to and at 3–6 monthly intervals during use is required if patients are receiving Malirid 7.5mg Tablet at continuous high doses for longer duration.
It may cause low blood sugar level. Monitor your blood sugar level regularly, if you are diabetic.
When used long term, your doctor may monitor the amounts of the different types of blood cells in your blood regularly. Inform your doctor if you have unexplained bruising or bleeding, sore throat, fever, or general feeling of tiredness.

Pregnancy = Malirid 7.5mg is not recommended for use in pregnant women unless necessary and the benefits outweigh the risks involved.
Breast-feeding = Malirid 7.5mg is recommended for use in breastfeeding women only after diagnostic tests are performed to confirm normal G6PD enzyme levels. Consult your doctor before using this medicine.
Regular blood examination = Use of Malirid 7.5mg can critically affect the blood cell count and cause anemia, leukopenia, and disorders of the blood. Hence, it is recommended to undergo regular blood examination while taking this medicine. Before initiating the treatment process with this medicine, patients should be examined for blood enzyme deficiencies.
Heart disease = Use of Malirid 7.5mg can affect the heart and worsen the symptoms of a pre-existing condition. It is advised to monitor such patients at regular intervals. Use of other medicines having a similar effect on the heart should be avoided.
