What Is Retino AC Gel?
Retino AC Gel is an antibiotic used to treat a numerous bacterial infections like pneumonia, strep throat, pelvic inflammatory disease, middle ear infections, bone or join infections, endocarditis among others. It is administered orally, or intravenously or as foam, gel, lotion or cream applied to the skin.
How Does Retino AC Gel Work?
Retino AC Gel is a combination of two medicines: Clindamycin and Tretinoin, which treats pimples (acne). Clindamycin is an antibiotic which works by penetrating into the skin and killing acne-causing bacteria. Tretinoin is a form of vitamin A which reduces oil production in the skin, replenishes the skin and helps keep your pores open.
What Is Route Of Administration?
Retino AC Gel is for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Clean and dry the affected area and apply the gel. Wash your hands after applying, unless hands are the affected area.

Drug To Drug Interaction
Gentamicin : Combined usage of these medicines may increase the risk of kidney injury. Any symptoms of changes in urine output, swelling, and weight gain etc., should be reported to the doctor. An adequate hydration should be maintained to prevent dehydration. An alternate medicine should be considered based on the clinical condition.
Ethinyl Estradiol : The desired effect of contraceptive pills will not be achieved if these medicines are taken together. Appropriate dose adjustments or replacement of the medicine should be made under the doctor’s supervision.
Cholera Vaccine : Avoid cholera vaccine if the patient has taken Retino AC Gel within 14 days before vaccination. Usage of other antibiotics and vaccines should be reported to the doctor.
While Tacking Retino AC Gel
Do
Before using tretinoin, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to it; or to vitamin A-related drugs (other retinoids such as isotretinoin); or if you have any other allergies. This product may contain inactive ingredients (such as fish proteins), which can cause allergic reactions or other problems. Talk to your pharmacist for more details.
Before using this medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist your medical history, especially of: eczema.
This medication may make you more sensitive to the sun. Limit your time in the sun. Avoid tanning booths and sunlamps. Weather extremes such as wind or cold may also be irritating to the skin. Use sunscreen daily and wear protective clothing when outdoors. Tell your doctor right away if you get sunburned or have skin blisters/redness. Wait until your skin has completely recovered from a sunburn before using tretinoin.
Don’t
Pregnancy : Retino AC Gel is not recommended for use in pregnant women. Appropriate contraception should be used to avoid getting pregnant during treatment with this medicine. Contact your doctor and discuss the risks if a pregnancy is suspected.
Breast-feeding : Retino AC Gel is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women unless absolutely necessary. All the risks and benefits should be discussed with the doctor before using this medicine.
Exposure to sun : Use of Retino AC Gel may cause adverse reactions of the skin on sun exposure. You are advised to take appropriate precautionary measures while stepping out into sunlight during treatment with this medicine.
