What Is Contractubex Gel?

Contractubex Gel is a scar gel which is prescribed to patients who have scarring on their skin. By effectively reducing the scars from within, Contractubex Gel induces the skin healing process. The gel treats the redness or any itching that is often experienced with scars. It also inhibits scar tissue formation. Though adverse reactions are not generally associated with this gel, patients should consult doctors in case of allergic reactions.

How Does Contractubex Gel Work?

Heparin is an anticoagulant. It works by preventing the formation of harmful blood clots. Although it does not dissolve the existing blood clots, it prevents them from growing larger and causing blockages in the blood vessels.

What Is Route Of Administration?

This medicine is for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Clean and dry the affected area and apply the gel. Wash your hands after applying, unless hands are the affected area.

Contractubex Gel may interact with the following drugs and products:

Before using Contractubex Gel, inform your doctor about your current list of medications, over the counter products (e.g. vitamins, herbal supplements, etc.), allergies, pre-existing diseases, and current health conditions (e.g. pregnancy, upcoming surgery, etc.). Some health conditions may make you more susceptible to the side-effects of the drug. Take as directed by your doctor or follow the direction printed on the product insert. Dosage is based on your condition. Tell your doctor if your condition persists or worsens. Important counseling points are listed below.

Pregnant, planning to get pregnant or breastfeeding

Do not take by mouth. Consult with your doctor before using this medicine on open wounds, dry, chapped, irritated, or sun-burned skin.

Wash your hands before and after applying Contractubex Gel. Clean and dry the skin area to be treated.

Do not wash the treated area after immediately applying Contractubex Gel. Also avoid the use of other products on the treated area unless directed by your doctor.

Don’t

Talk to your doctor before taking this medicine if you:

Are allergic to Allantoin, Cepae extract and heparin or any of the other ingredients

Are getting any other treatment for existing scars and contractures

Have been exposed to UV lights, extreme cold temperatures

Uses 

Contractubex Gel is used in the treatment of Scar Removal Gel.

Storage 

Store in a cool, dry place away from the reach of children. – Once you have mixed the powder with water, the syrup can be stored at room temperature not more than 25°C. Do not refrigerate it otherwise it will thicken and you may have problems pouring it out. Throw away any unused portion after 14 days. – Medicines must not be used past the expiry date.
