How Does Dizone 250 mg Work?

Dizone 250mg Tablet acts as an alcohol-abuse inhibitor. It interferes with the way your body metabolizes alcohol. The body breaks down alcohol into acetaldehyde compounds, which are further broken down by aldehyde dehydrogenase enzyme. this prevents the enzyme from functioning properly. As a result, acetaldehyde is not converted to acetic acid, and gets accumulated in the bloodstream instead.

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Dizone 250 mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Do

Do not consume alcohol during the treatment and for up to 14 days after discontinuation.

Disulfiram may cause drowsiness or tiredness. Do not drive or operate machinery if you are affected.

Avoid taking disulfiram if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy, or you are breast feeding.

Before you take disulfiram inform your doctor about all the prescription, non-prescription, and herbal medicines you are or were taking.

Breast-feeding – Dizone 250 mg Tablet is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women unless absolutely necessary. Discuss all the risks and benefits with your doctor before taking this medicine. Your doctor may advise you to discontinue breastfeeding or to discontinue the medicine based on your clinical condition.

Alcohol use – Do not consume alcoholic beverages or medicines containing alcohol for at least 12 hours before starting therapy with Dizone 250mg Tablet and for several weeks after stopping the therapy. Consumption of alcohol during this time period may cause severe side effects.
