What Is Ketocip 200mg?

The name of your medicine is Ketocip 200mg. They are called “Ketoconazole”. Ketocip 200mg contain a medicine called ketoconazole. This belongs to a group of medicines called “antifungals”. These are used to treat a range of conditions which can’t be treated with other antifungal medicines, including some fungal infections affecting the skin, mouth and throat. This work by killing the fungus that causes the infection

How Does Ketocip 200mg Work?

This Tablet is an antifungal medication. It kills fungi by destroying the fungal cell membrane. This treats your infection.

What Is Route Of Administration?

Take this medication by mouth as directed by your doctor, usually once a day. This medication may be taken with or without food, but taking it with food helps to reduce stomach upset.

If you are taking an antacid, take ketoconazole at least 2 hours before or 1 hour after taking the antacid, otherwise ketoconazole may not be absorbed into the body. See also Drug Interactions for more information.

Do

Before taking Ketocip 200mg, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to it; or to other azole antifungal drugs (such as fluconazole, itraconazole); or if you have any other allergies. This product may contain inactive ingredients, which can cause allergic reactions or other problems. Talk to your pharmacist for more details.

Before using this medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist your medical history, especially of: liver problems, alcohol use, low testosterone levels, decreased adrenal gland function problems (such as low cortisol levels, Addison’s disease, adrenal insufficiency), little or no stomach acid production (achlorhydria).

This may cause a condition that affects the heart rhythm (QT prolongation). QT prolongation can rarely cause serious (rarely fatal) fast/irregular heartbeat and other symptoms (such as severe dizziness, fainting) that need medical attention right away.

Alcohol = It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Ketocip 200mg Tablet. Taking Ketoconazole with alcohol can cause minor side effects

Pregnancy = This Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.

Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.

Lactation = This Tablet is safe to use during lactation. Human studies have shown that either the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in significant amount or is not expected to cause toxicity to the baby.

Driving = This Tablet may make you feel dizzy, sleepy, tired, or decrease alertness. If this happens, do not drive.

Storage Of Ketocip 200mg

Keep out of the reach and sight of children. Do not store above 30°C. Store in the original package to protect from moisture. Do not take Ketoconazole after the expiry date which is stated on the label. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
