The gel works by killing bacteria and reducing inflammation which will allow the top layer of the skin to break down and shed. This will help break down blackheads and whiteheads as well as unplugging blocked pores and is mainly used in the treatment of acne.

How Does Persol Gel 2.5% Work?

Persol Gel 2.5% is a keratolytic agent. It has bactericidal activity, i.e., it works by killing the acne causing bacteria thereby preventing the infection.

What Is Route Of Administration?

This medicine is for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Clean and dry the affected area and apply the gel. Wash your hands after applying, unless hands are the affected area.

Be careful when applying Persol Gel to large areas since it can bleach hair, clothing, and furnishings upon contact.

It may cause skin dryness or stinging. In case you experience excessive irritation or allergy, discontinue the medication and consult your doctor.

This medication may make you more sensitive to the sun. Avoid exposure to sunlight, sunlamp or ultraviolet light when using Persol Gel 2.5%.

Use sunscreen and wear protective clothing when outdoors.

Skin peeling: This medicine may cause skin irritation initially when applied and characterized by peeling of the skin. This effect is not harmful and will be subsided within in 1 or 2 days when the treatment is stopped.

For external use: This medicine is for external use only. Applied on the affected skin as recommended. Avoid contact with the eyes and mouth. Exposure to the sunlight should be avoided and use sunscreen lotion as required.

Skin irritation: This medicine may increase the skin irritation, therefore, should not be used in patients with dry skin and skin irritation.
