What Is Terbicip 250mg?

It is either taken orally or is applied to the skin as a cream or an ointment.

It basically is an anti-fungus agent, but the cream and ointment also help relieve the itching, burning and cracking and scaling from the infections caused by the fungus. If it’s being used as a cream or as an ointment, it has to be applied on dry and clear skin.

How Does Terbicip 250mg Work?

This Tablet decreases ergosterol production by disrupting the activity of cytochrome P450, inhibiting the formation of the cell membrane of susceptible fungi like Candida and Micosporum.

Drug To Drug Interaction

Rifampin = Your doctor’s guidelines may need to be followed while taking this medicine along with rifampin, which is used to treat lung infection (tuberculosis). This is used with rifampin, it may increase the clearance of the Terbicip 250mg. Dose adjustments of Terbicip 250mg should be considered when using both medicines together.

Ciclosporin = This Tablet interacts with ciclosporin, which is used to prevent organ rejection. When Terbicip 250mg is used with ciclosporin, it may increase the clearance of ciclosporin.

Caffeine = There may be an interaction of Terbicip 250mg with caffeine, which is used to treat headache. When Terbicip 250mg is used with caffeine, it may decrease the clearance of caffeine

Patients on Terbicip 250mg who develop a high fever or sore throat should be examined concerning possible hematological reactions.

Single dose pharmacokinetic studies in patients with pre-existing liver disease have shown that the clearance of Terbicip 250mg can be reduced by 50%.

Therapeutic use of Terbicip 250mg in patients with chronic or active liver disease has not been studied in prospective clinical trials, and therefore cannot be recommended.

This should be used with caution in patients with psoriasis, as very rare cases of exacerbation of psoriasis have been reported.

This is a potent inhibitor of the isoenzyme CYP2D6, which should be considered if this is combined with medicinal products metabolized by this isoenzyme that are titrated individually. Dose adjustments may be necessary.

Lactation = This Tablet is probably unsafe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggest that the drug could represent a significant risk to the baby.

Driving = This Tablet may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive.

Kidney = This Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of  Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.

Liver = This Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.

Use of this Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease and active liver disease. Inform your doctor if you develop any signs and symptoms of jaundice while taking this medicine.

Uses Of Terbicip 250mg

These Tablets are also used to treat fungal infections of the skin, including the treatment of tinea corporis, tinea cruris, tinea pedis, and yeast infections of the skin caused by the genus Candida where oral therapy is considered appropriate due to reasons of severity or extent of the infection.

It is also used for the treatment of tinea capitis (ringworm of the scalp). It is suitable to treat a fungal infection of hair follicles in children who are at least 4 years old.

Storage Of Terbicip 250mg

You should store Tablet at 25°C (77°F), away from moisture, and away from light. Store the medicine away from the reach of children and pets.

Medicines may be prescribed for uses other than those listed in the medicine guide. Do not use Tablet for conditions for which it was not prescribed. Do not give Terbicip 250mg Tablet to other people who might have the same conditions or symptoms that you have. Self-medication may harm them.
