What Is Donep 5mg?

Donep 5mg Tablet, a cholinesterase inhibitor, is used to treat a brain disorder that affects the ability to remember, communicate, think clearly, and perform daily activities and may cause changes in mood and personality in people who have Alzheimer’s disease. It improves mental function by increasing the amount of certain chemicals in the brain. However, it does not cure Alzheimer’s disease completely.

How Does Donep 5mg Work?

Memory loss in Alzheimer’s disease occurs due to disturbances of signal transmission in the brain. Donep 5mg Tablet is a cholinesterase inhibitor. It works by increasing the levels of a chemical messenger (acetylcholine) involved in transmmission of nerve signals. This improves memory and thinking.

What Is Route Of Administration?

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Donep 5mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Do

Caution on When Used In Patients With Sick Sinus Syndrome Or Cardiac Conduction Abnormalities. May Increase Secretion Of Gastric Acid; Caution When Used In Patients At Risk Of Ulcer Disease. Patients with COPD, Asthma, History of Epilepsy, Bladder Obstruction, Prostatic Hypertrophy.

May Cause Dose-Related diarrhoea, Nausea and/or Vomiting Which Usually Resolves After 1-3 Wk. Safety and Efficacy Have Not Been Established In children. Pregnancy, Lactation.

Don’t

Heart problems: Tell your doctor if you have heart problems, especially issues with irregular, slow, or fast heart rate. You have a higher risk for experiencing a slow heart rate and fainting while taking donepezil.

Stomach ulcers or bleeding: Talk to your doctor if you have a history of stomach problems, ulcers, or bleeding. Donepezil may increase the amount of acid in your stomach. This may put you at risk of having another stomach ulcer or bleed.

Llung problems: Talk to your doctor if you have asthma or other lung diseases. Donepezil may make these conditions worse, so it needs to be used with caution.

Bladder problems: Donepezil may block your bladder, making it difficult to urinate. Talk to your doctor if you’ve had any bladder problems in the past.

Seizures or epilepsy: Donepezil may cause seizures. Tell your doctor if you have a history of seizures. Alzheimer’s disease may also raise your risk of seizures.

Liver problems: Talk to your doctor if you have a history of liver problems. If your liver isn’t working well, more of this drug may stay in your body longer. This puts you at a greater risk of side effects.

Storage Of Donep 5mg

Store this drug at room temperature between 59°F and 86°F (15°C and 30°C).Don’t store this medication in moist or damp areas, such as bathrooms.
