What Is Erytop Gel?

This is used for Acne, Pimples, Keratosis pilaris, severe acne on face, Spots, Acne vulgaris, Skin and skin structure infections, Mild to moderate acne and other conditions. Erytop Gel may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide. Erytop Gel contains Adapalene Topical and Clindamycin Topical as active ingredients.

It works by lowering the microcomedone formation; treating the acne and keratosis pilaris; reducing the pustule and papule counts in acne.

How Does Erytop Gel Work?

This mechanistically combines with certain retinoic acid nuclear receptors as well as retinoid X receptors. It does not combine with cytosolic receptor protein however. The exact working nature of Erytop Gel is not known.

What Is Route Of Administration?

This medicine is for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Clean and dry the affected area and apply the gel. Wash your hands after applying, unless hands are the affected area.

Drug To Drug Interaction

If you use other drugs or over the counter products at the same time, the effects of Erytop Gel may change. This may increase your risk for side-effects or cause your drug not to work properly. Tell your doctor about all the drugs, vitamins, and herbal supplements you are using, so that you doctor can help you prevent or manage drug interactions. Erytop Gel may interact with the following drugs and products:

Abrasive soaps and cleansers

Alcohol-containing preparations

Do

You have been prescribed Erytop Gel for the treatment of acne.

You may have to use it for a long time before your acne starts to improve. Be patient and keep using it every day.

Apply it as a thin layer onto clean, dry, unbroken skin affected by acne.

Wash your skin with a mild cleanser and pat it dry before applying Erytop Gel.

It may cause minor burning, stinging, or irritation when applied. Inform your doctor if this does not go away.

Avoid contact with your eyes, nose or mouth. Rinse it off with water if you accidentally get the cream in these areas.

Don’t

Clostridium difficile-associated Diarrhea : Antibiotic therapy will cause an imbalance in the normal microbial flora of the large intestine, which may promote the growth of a bacteria called Clostridium difficile and you may experience severe diarrhea as a result. Report any such incidence to the doctor on priority and avoid usage of this medicine in such cases.

Pregnancy : Erytop Gel is not recommended for use in pregnant women unless necessary. All the risks and benefits should be discussed with the doctor before using this medicine.

Breast-feeding : Erytop Gel is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women unless necessary. All the risks and benefits should be discussed with the doctor before using this medicine. If the medicine is used, care should be taken such that the infant does not come into contact with the medicine. Also, the infant should be monitored closely for any undesired side effects.
