What Is Rapacan 2mg?

This Capsule is an immuno-suppressant, which in combination with other medications is used during kidney transplant to prevent rejection. It is also used to coat coronary stents and treat lymphangioleiomyomatosis. This medicine is is usually taken once daily, but consult your doctor regarding the right dosage. It is available as a chewing tablet as well as in liquid form.

How Does Rapacan 2mg Work?

This Capsule is an immunosuppressant. It works by suppressing your body’s immune response following transplant of an organ (eg. liver, kidney, heart). This helps your body to accept the new organ as if it were your own.

What Is Route Of Administration?

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. This Capsule may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Do

You may be frequently monitored for renal function during concomitant administration of sirolimus and ciclosporin.

Sirolimus increase risk of infection and the risk of developing certain types of cancer (e.g., lymphoma, skin cancer). Seek immediate medical attention if you notice signs of infection (e.g., persistent sore throat, chills, and fever), any changes in the appearance or size of a mole, night sweats, unusual growths or lumps, or unusual tiredness or weakness.

Avoid use of live vaccines during treatment as the vaccination may be less effective when taking sirolimus.

Use effective methods of contraception during sirolimus therapy and for 12 weeks after sirolimus has been stopped.

Don’t

Use in pediatrics : This is not recommended for use in children less than 13 years of age.

Blood pressure : This may cause an increase in blood pressure. Close monitoring of blood pressure is necessary during treatment with this medicine.

Use of contraception : Women of childbearing age are advised to use effective contraception prior to, during, and for 12 weeks following treatment with this medicine to avoid pregnancy. This medicine may cause serious side effects in the fetus.
