What Is Zocon DT 100mg?
Zocon DT 100mg is used to treat the fungal infection of the vagina (also called, vaginal candidiasis). This medicine works by preventing the formation of an enzyme (ergosterol) which is necessary for the synthesis of the fungal cell wall. This is also used to treat fungal infection of mouth, throat, and pharynx. It is also used to treat brain and spinal cord infection (cryptococcal meningitis) in AIDS patients. This is also used to prevent fungal infection in patients undergoing bone marrow transplantation who receive radiation therapy and chemotherapy.
This Tablet is also used to treat urinary tract infection. This is also used to treat inflammation of membrane that covers abdominal organs (peritonitis). This Tablet is also used to treat pneumonia.
How Does Zocon DT 100mg Work?
Zocon DT 100mg contain fluconazole 100mg, a broad-spectrum antifungal drug belonging to the triazole group of antifungals that is a potent and specific inhibitor of fungal enzymes necessary for the synthesis of ergosterol, an important component of fungal cell membrane that is not found in animal cells. Fluconazole in Zocon DT 100mg weakens the fungal cell membrane, causing the cell contents to leak out which kills the fungus, preventing the infection from spreading and relieving symptoms caused by the infection, including, itching and inflammation.
