What Is Aricep 10mg?

This Tablet, a cholinesterase inhibitor, is used to treat a brain disorder that affects the ability to remember, communicate, think clearly, and perform daily activities and may cause changes in mood and personality in people who have Alzheimer’s disease. It improves mental function by increasing the amount of certain chemicals in the brain. However, it does not cure Alzheimer’s disease completely.

How Does Aricep 10mg Work?

Memory loss in Alzheimer’s disease occuras due to disturbances of signal transmission in the brain. This Tablet is a cholinesterase inhibitor. It works by increasing the levels of a chemical messenger (acetylcholine) involved in transmmission of nerve signals. This improves memory and thinking.

What Is Route Of Administration?

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. This Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Drug To Drug Interaction 

Carvedilol = This tablet may lower the heart rate and blood pressure if taken together. Inform the doctor if you are receiving antihypertensives like carvedilol, metoprolol, and nifedipine. Any symptoms of dizziness, irregular heartbeat should be informed to the doctor.

Oxcarbazepine = Inform the doctor if you are receiving oxcarbazepine, carbamazepine as these medicines will decrease the effect of Tablet.

Tramadol = This may increase the risk of seizures if taken together. The risk is more in the elderly population with the history of head injury or seizures.

This Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.

This Tablet is probably unsafe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggest that the drug could represent a significant risk to the baby.

This Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
