Tretiva 25mg belongs to a category of chemical compounds called retinoid. This medication helps in the treatment of cystic acne or nodular acne that has previously not responded to any other kinds of treatment. It lowers the production of facial oil and prevents hardening of the skin. If acne is not properly treated it can cause permanent scarring.

Ethinyl Estradiol: The oral form of isotretinoin should not be used with Ethinyl estradiol or other hormonal preparations belonging to the same category. Your doctor will determine the best course of treatment in such cases. It is advised to take extra precautionary measures to avoid unintended pregnancies while using this medicine.

Natural Micronised Progesterone: The oral form of isotretinoin should not be used with progesterone or other hormonal preparations belonging to the same category. Your doctor will determine the best course of treatment in such cases.

Do

Avoid exposure to sunlight while using Tretiva 25mg. Use protective measures such as sun-cream or protective clothing.

It may cause dryness of mouth, lips, and eyes. Drink plenty of water, use moisturiser and avoid wearing contact lenses. Inform your doctor if it bothers you.

Uses Of Tretiva 25 mg

Tretiva 25mg is used to treat severe cystic acne (also known as nodular acne) that has not responded to other treatment (e.g., benzoyl peroxide or clindamycin applied to the skin or tetracycline or minocycline taken by mouth). It belongs to a class of drugs known as retinoids. It works by decreasing facial oil (sebum) production. High amounts of sebum can lead to severe acne. If left untreated, severe acne may cause permanent scarring.
